Scroll through the news or your social feed, and it’s easy to wonder: Does anybody care about Jesus anymore? His name is used casually, sometimes mocked, and often ignored. Churches feel emptier to some, louder to others, and the world seems to run just fine without stopping to listen to a carpenter from Nazareth. Yet this question isn’t new. Scripture shows us that Jesus faced the same tension during His own life.

The Gospel of John says, “He came unto his own, and his own received him not” (John 1:11, KJV). From the beginning, many turned away. Crowds followed Jesus when He fed them, healed them, and challenged the powerful—but when His words became hard, many left. John 6:66 tells us plainly: “From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.” Popularity faded when commitment was required.
So if people walked away then, why are we surprised when they do now?

Isaiah prophesied that the Messiah would be “despised and rejected of men” (Isaiah 53:3 NKJV). Jesus was never meant to be universally celebrated. He was meant to reveal truth. Truth comforts the humble, but it confronts the proud. That confrontation still happens today. Jesus challenges how we love, how we forgive, how we live—and not everyone wants that kind of interruption.
Yet the story doesn’t end with rejection.
When Jesus asked His disciples if they would leave too, Peter responded, “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life” (John 6:68). This moment reminds us that faith has never been about the crowd. It has always been about response. Even when many stop caring, some still recognize life in His words.
And here is the hope: Jesus does not measure success the way the world does. He spoke of a narrow way (Matthew 7:14 NKJV), a small seed that grows (Matthew 13:31–32 NKJV), and a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine to find one (Luke 15:4). One heart still matters. One believer still counts.
So does anybody care about Jesus anymore? Scripture answers quietly but firmly: yes. Not always loudly. Not always trending. But faithfully. And this Christmas season, maybe the better question is not who else cares—but do we?
Because when we live like Jesus still matters, the world is reminded that He always has.
Thank you so much for your continued readership and support. Until next week…Blessings and Peace! And don’t forget…Let your light shine!
