“He reached down from heaven and rescued me;
he drew me out of deep waters.”
(Psalm 18:16, NLT)
Drowning in the ocean waves,
the good LORD rescued me.
He raised me from the darkness—
the tur-bu-lent, fierce sea.
God whispered to my spirit—
embraced me with mer-cy,
released me from oppression—
unveiled my eyes to see.
He showed me grace with patience
while com-for-ting my soul,
and took from me my worries
as I released control.
It’s then I felt such freedom
from chains of op-pres-sion.
My eyes had seen God’s Glory—
a bles-sed im-pres-sion.
