Whatever Happened To Accountability?

Conclusion

Last week we concluded that this notion of not being accountable and flipping the script to justify man’s sinful nature that is spreading its tentacles around the globe is a price that is just too high to pay. Jesus stood for truth even to the cross. And the price He paid was much too high for believers not to stand as He stood…

“Am I my brother’s keeper?”

We cannot stand by like Paul (Saul) watching the Stephens of the world get stoned to death with the spectators instead of standing up for the WORD. (Acts 7:54-60 NKJV and Acts 8:1-2 NKJV) Being an onlooker or hiding in the crowd makes you just as guilty as the ones who committed the crime. That is real guilt by association! Then you’ll find yourself with a Cain attitude—“Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9 NKJV) Yes, you are because we all are one body and that body is the body of Christ. (I Corinthians 12:12-31 NKJV)

If we take the tasks we have each been given and keep silent waiting for the world to do what we are responsible for doing we are in serious trouble indeed. Because the world loves its own and we are not of this world—merely pilgrims passing through it. Going to church is a good thing but not using what you learn when you leave there is not building up the Kingdom of God but tearing it down. We cannot take our accountability and look in the other direction or bury it in the sand. Was it, not James who said But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. (James 1:22-25 NKJV)

This is not a post to insight into any negative connotations but simply written to “stir up the gift of God which is in you.” Either way, you are going to be accountable. You’ll either go down with the world’s titanic or…So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. (Romans 14:12 NKJV) It’s time to wake up everybody! The alarm clock of humanity is going off—Can you hear it?

May the Blessings of the LORD be with you today and always. Thank you for your continued readership and support. Until next Sunday…Blessings and Peace!
