Usually, I try to have the post already written. But occasionally I find myself behind the eight ball. This is the case for this post as I woke up at about 4:30am or so and had two posts to finish—this being the last one. Didn’t get the title for the post until now. Although I have a list of blog topics this is not on it…

The title comes from I Kings 18:21… And Elijah came to all the people, and said, “How long will you falter between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.” But the people answered him not a word.
The question I would like to pose to all my readers this morning is Where are you in this? It is my observation that many of us have yet to experience the fullness of God’s power and authority because we are caught between two opinions. On one hand, we want to do what is right concerning the things of God but then on the other hand we sometimes find ourselves distracted by different things in this life that cause us to withdraw or hesitate when the answer is already crystal clear no matter what our Baal might be.

Here is where the Apostle Paul defines this issue: “I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.” (Romans 7:21-23 NKJV)
Why did the prophet pose this question to the people to begin with? Let’s observe: Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, “Is that you, O troubler of Israel?” And he answered, “I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals. Now therefore, send and gather all Israel to me on Mount Carmel, the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal, and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.” (1 Kings 18:18-19 NKJV)

Today we all should take a good introspection of ourselves as it concerns our relationship in obedience to our Father’s commandments. And whatever our Baal is or Baals are we need to do exactly what the prophet did. And Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Do not let one of them escape!” So they seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the Brook Kishon and executed them there. (1 Kings 18:40 NKJV)
Figuratively speaking, you have to put whatever it is under subjection to our Father (2 Corinthians 10:4-5 NKJV), repent, and see your drought end and the shower of blessings begin to fall in your life! (1 Kings 18:41-46 NKJV)
May the Blessings of the LORD be with you today and always. Thank you for your continued readership and support.….Blessings and Peace!

Great post. Made me think of James 1:6-8 about being double minded.
