While in Sunday service I was led by the Holy Spirit to write another poem. But the irony was the only thing I had to write it on was this tax envelope that had a speckled background. Upon arriving home it was pressed upon my spirit to decipher what had been written on this odd piece of paper.
There was a time in my life when I would’ve been frustrated or intimidated by this task. But on the reverse side of that paper on the envelope flap, I’d also written “Overcoming the small things enables us to overcome the larger things.”
Like David, we have to overcome the lions and bears in our lives so that when the Goliath tests come, we can conquer them just like David did. (1 Samuel 17:49-51 NKJV) This might not seem important to some folk, but we must always remember it is the little foxes that spoil the vine. (Song of Solomon 2:15 NKJV) Simply put, if you can’t overcome the small things like doubt, frustration, and intimidation, how in the world can you conquer the giant things such as fear, pride, or unbelief?

So I took to the task of trying different types of lighting, different kinds of sunglasses, and my reading glasses with the green filter until it was revealed to me that I had to look at this paper from a tilted position—a different angle. Thereby allowing me to see the poem. And in no time I was transposing the poem onto my trusty notebook! Thanking God for what seemed like a miracle to me.

As emphasized in many of my previous blogs, it is all in perception. Some things may be hard to do, but are you looking at the task or the Teacher? Every mole hill is not a mountain, and some mountains are merely mole hills—which I discovered today. Why? So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20 NKJV)
No matter the problem, look at all the angles and don’t be so easily intimidated or frustrated by what you see—keep trying because no matter the size of the task, it is never too big for God if you have the faith to believe! Is it not written…“The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” (Luke 18:27 NKJV) And after you’ve conquered that giant, don’t forget to give God the praise!
